Being a firefighter isn't easy. You're enclosed in tight gear that traps sweat & envelops your bodies warmth. (it's heaven in the winter but hell in the summer) The majority of the equipment isn't light to carry and/or operate. You deal with life and death situations & it can be scary.

Being a firefighter is one of the most rewarding jobs out there. There's nothing like coming home from a call & being able to say "I saved his/her life." It's awesome!

The thrill of getting a call & rushing down to the firehouse is like having sex. From the time you get the page to the time you get to the scene--it's a rising climax of excitement. As soon as you get the page you jump up, grab your shoes & keys & you're out the door. You then speed (at least I do) to the firehouse, jump in your gear & hop on a truck. Then when the trucks leave you sit tight until you get to the scene. It's really an amazing & very rewarding feeling. I can't get enough of it.
